Looking forward to Prom Queen. Will order from our local bookstore downtown.
Your photos of outfits made the crazy of lockdown and beyond bearable, along with September 2020 acquisition of Izzy the traumatized accidental mom of three kittens. She is here. They all have good homes a hundred miles away.
Deeply admire your Domino sign saga. Suspected the major life change. Appreciate that you chose to keep sharing other pieces of your life online. Thank you.
Older than you by some years. Decided to approach last year’s birthday by finding out just how much silver my head carries. Miss the never natural auburn sometimes, but not enough to go back to it.
You do indeed look fabulous. Your email fell out of my contacts, somehow, a while back, or I'd send this via that channel: I wondered about the disappearance of Mr. L from your sunny online presence, and suspected this might have happened. But you remain fabulous in all respects. Total goals. I look forward to reading your forever. -- Your biggest fan
May I just tell people that USED SHOES ARE THE BEST. I'm sure they skeeve some people out, but I especially like them when buying "on trend." I kept hearing that Mary Janes and ballet flats were back. After much careful, diligent searching, I found a pair of Lanvin ballet flats with incredibly scuffed soles, but pristine uppers, and they are perfect.
Loved reading this! I found your Substack through a comment you made about aging on The Audacity. I'm still finding my voice in my 40s. I love seeing all the interesting possibilities that can come with age. And your voice is definitely interesting. Gonna check out more of your work for more inspiration!
I am very much looking forward to the Scribd essay! And that is indeed a good outfit. You've inspired me to go eat a pizza somewhere while looking fabulous.
You are definitely GOALS, plus a bag of chips! I (also at the age of 64) am the picture of what a young woman does NOT aspire to with my cat T-shirts (so many that I could wear a different one each day for at least 6 weeks), mom jeans, oversized denim shirts, and worn out Keen boots. But all this shit gives me joy when I look at it in the mirror. I can't wait to read your essay!!!!!
Rowhouse living, man. While I love the addition off the room, which allows me to have a proper dressing room, the placement of those French doors means the bed has to be at an angle.

It means a lot to me to know that my silliness made anything bearable!
To quote Steve Rogers (re Joe Bob) “I understood that reference!” Does that make me old???
And just speaking for myself, you are GOALS for everyone. I have been a fan for 2 decades and you just keep getting better and better.

You are absolute GOALS. Always excited to hear about a new essay too.
Extremely excited about this Scribd essay!
Absolutely 100% GOALS. 💗💖💗
Looking GOOD, LL. xo

It's infectious. Met a friend for drinks last night and she showed up in a fabulous dress and heels, saying, "I knew YOU would be dressed up."

Depends on the young woman, no? Sounds like GOALS to me.
Xoxox
There are a handful of writers who would amazing to hang out with you. You and Zadie Smith are definitely on that list.
I think those GOALS gals saw a confident, bad-ass woman who is self-possessed. Something most of us women don't get until we hit at least 50.
I am fascinated by the setup of this bedroom (and I love the huge bunny on the bed).
